Daffodil Fair - Saturday, 18th April 2015
The first Daffodil Fair held in Luddenden Foot Civic Centre and run by the Association and user groups was well attended. Stalls were provided by Luddenden Foot United Reformed Church and 'Allsorts' Social and Recreational Club which use the premises as well as a Fair Trade stall and a local childrens' charity.
Luddenden Foot Boys Brigade Company provided a family treasure hunt around Holmes Park and Luddenden Foot W.I. provided a superb range of cakes and scones for afternoon tea. The highlight of the event was Calderdale Blender Bikes which provided much entertainment as children and adults had to peddle hard to produce a smooth smoothie!
Mrs Heather Hartwell (Luddenden Foot Community Association Secretary), said, 'It was an opportunity for people within the community to see the plans for the refurbishment of the lower hall - plans include a lift which will give access to all floors, cafe and new toilets. Also on view was the new cinema equipment which had been installed earlier that week.
Since the building was transferred to the LCA from Calderdale MBC we have worked to improve the conditions for the users and to start new activities, we now want to start carrying out major refurbishment to make the building DDA complaint so that it can be totally accessible to all who want to use the facilities.
To find out more about the activities arranged either contact Mrs Heather Hartwell – 01422 885 542/07591 952 134 or pop along on a Wednesday afternoon
