Luddenden Foot Boys Brigade Remember lads who served in both world wars
An exhibition of pictures of former members of Luddenden Foot Boys Brigade Company was on display at Luddenden Foot Civic Institute on Sunday, 9th November 2014 to mark the centenary of WW1.
The history of the company and the research has been carried out by Mr Andrew Dewhirst, a current officer with the company, which meets in the Civic Institute, Station Road, Luddenden Foot.
The exhibition included a drum that was presented to the company as a memorial to those who gave their lives in WW1. The company is 111 years old and one of the oldest in the Halifax Battalion. Mrs Heather Hartwell said ‘This is a wonderful way to link our current boys with the past’.
For anyone who has not seen the display there will be another opportunity as it will form part of an exhibition to mark the centenary of the Civic Institute which will be held in the building on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th December 2014 and can be viewed between 10.00 am and 2.00 pm on both days.
